BORDER & RAILWAY PLANNING
Where can I enter Laos with an eVisa?
Match your visa to the immigration checkpoint, not just the nearest city.
Boten Railway Station
The official eVisa list explicitly includes Boten Railway Station in Luang Namtha Province. Boten International Checkpoint is a separate road entry on the list. Select the railway checkpoint for a railway border crossing.
Khamsavath Railway Station
Khamsavath is an accepted railway entry checkpoint in Vientiane. It is different from Vientiane Railway Station on the Laos–China high-speed line. Plan the transfer if you continue toward Vang Vieng or Luang Prabang.

A different border crossing may not accept an eVisa. Do not assume a visa on arrival is available for your nationality or checkpoint. Verify before booking a cross-border journey. Admission remains an immigration decision.
