APPLICATION CHECKLIST

Laos eVisa requirements

Prepare once, check carefully, and leave enough time.

01 · Passport biodata page

The official FAQ specifies an ordinary passport with more than 180 days remaining from arrival. Upload a colour copy showing the full page and both machine-readable lines at the bottom. Check that names, number, date of birth and expiry date are readable.

Upload a JPG, JPEG or PNG image up to 10 MB. Use the same passport for application and entry.

02 · Recent portrait photo

Prepare a colour 4 × 6 cm photograph taken within the last 6 months, with a plain white background, no shadows, a neutral expression, both eyes open and your face toward the camera.

Upload a separate JPG, JPEG or PNG portrait up to 10 MB; a passport scan does not replace it.

03 · Application information

For each applicant: passport names (or confirm no surname), sex, date and country of birth, telephone, occupation, residential address, state/province and nationality. Include passport number, issue date, expiry date and issuing country.

Provide a contact email, arrival date, designated entry checkpoint, flight number or transport, purpose (tourism) and address in Laos. Your next destination is optional. Confirm passport eligibility and any visa exemption before applying.

04 · Processing time and fees

The official estimate is usually 3 working days after a complete application and payment, subject to government acceptance. Corrections and public holidays can extend this. Apply 5 to 60 days before entry and allow extra time for document checks.

The visa fee is charged in USD per applicant. The complete total is shown before payment. Once your application is submitted, the eVisa fee paid is non-refundable under any circumstances, whether the application is approved or refused.

05 · After approval

Check your personal details and the dates on the approval letter. Print a copy with a clearly readable QR code and carry it with the same passport. The letter is valid for entry for up to 60 days after issue; the permitted stay is a different period.

Visa approval does not guarantee admission. Immigration officers make the final entry decision. Keep your train booking and visa documents separate.
